World cup 2010

The 19th FIFA World Cup is going to take place between 11th June to 11th July 2010 in the name of 2010 FIFA World Cup. This is an international event for football. This is the first time that the FIFA tournament is hosted by the African nation. Though Italy is not automatically qualified for the final tournament they are the shielding champions.

FIFA World Cup also called Football World Cup is an international football competition for men’s. The event takes place once every four year since the first tournament started in 1930.

With the hot fever of football world cup 2010, the biggest sporting event of the year people are booking their tickets to south Africa to enjoy the sport event as well as to enjoy the Africa’s most powerful tourist spots.

The sporting event is yet to begin with the opening match on Friday 11th June 2010 at soccer city in Johannesburg.

Till now 18 tournaments have been held and seven nations have won the cup. Brazil has received the title for five times, Italy four times, Germany three times, England with two and other champion nations are Uruguay, Argentina, and France with one each.

The last world cup took place in Germany in 2006 and the next world cup 2014 is planned to be held at Brazil.

After Olympics the world’s biggest sporting tournament is Football World Cup. It has gained its own set of television audience.

South Africa will be center of the world’s attraction for the four weeks in 2010. Till now in television history world cup 2006 that took place in Germany is the most viewed event. But world cup 2010 has gained so much attraction even before the event has started. Million of eyes are already focused on the southern tip of Africa. So there won’t be question of disappointment to the fans.
