Weather and climate
South Africa has a subtropical climate. It is surrounded on three sides by ocean. The interior plateau is responsible for the warm temperate climatic condition. It is moderately dry country with annual rainfall of about 464mm.
Since South Africa lies in the southern hemisphere its seasons are opposite to those of North America and Europe.
The four seasons are as follows:
- Summer Mid October to mid February
- Autumn mid of February to April
- Winter May to July
- Spring August to Mid-October
