Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace
Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace is situated in Rustenburg in North West province. This sports palace was fully funded by the Royal Bafokeng community and was opened in 1999. This stadium was built originally for the Rugby world cup in 1995 and now it has become a famous football venue.
The Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace can be reached 90m from Johannesburg and it is a 25m drive from Sun City.
The stadium has the capacity of 40,000 for the FIFA world cup 2010 the capacity has increased to 42,000. Since the stadium has full equipped features only minor renovations are needed to bring in. In order to welcome the football supporters new public address system was developed. New scoreboards and floodlights are installed. New cantilever roof was also added. The total amount spend for renovation was around R360 million.
