Free State stadium
Free State stadium is located in Bloemfontein city in South Africa. It is also called as Vodacom Park. The stadium is used for both football matches and rugby union.
The Free State stadium has excellent environment for sporting with sufficient parking place and first rate hospitality features. The stadium can be reached with in few minutes drive from the anticipated hotels in Bloemfontein.
The stadium underwent minor renovations for the FIFA world cup. To increase the capacity of seating arrangements a second tier was added. With this the seating capacity is increased to 48,000 including 650 seats for the VIP suite. Other renovations include flood lights improvement, sound system repaired and new revolving barriers were built. Electronic scoreboards were also installed.
The renovation was started on 2007 September and was completed on time in 2008. The renovation has planned and completed on time to help the stadium to hold the four confederation cup matches. All these renovation were done at the cost of R314 million. This was less then the estimated budget (F9.5 million less).
The stadium is located closely to the hockey, independent cricket and athletics stadiums. The stadium seems to have a good testimony for its wellbeing and safety measures.
