Rustenburg

Rustenburg is a small and prosperous town found at the foot of Magaliesberg Mountain in the North West province of South Africa. Rustenburg was founded in 1851 and the name of the town says that it is a town of rest. Rustenburg has a rich platinum mineral and is a heavily mined region in Africa.

In ancient times the city was used as a resort by the prospectors, explorers and hunters. This small cute town is the home of Paul Kruger the former president of South Africa. Its population is about 130,000. Though Rustenburg act as an industrial city of Africa it has a beautiful environment with charming climate and greenery.

Royal Bafokeng Stadium has been chosen to host the football world cup 2010. It has a capacity of about 40,000. The stadium gets its name after the people of Bafokeng. The stadium will host 6 matches of the FIFA world cup 2010.
