FIFA 2010 Referees

FIFA committee members have preselected a group of 38 referees. The referee committee is headed by the FIFA vice president Angel Maria Villar Llona. He released the referees list on 22nd October 2008.

From the pre-selected list of referees the FIFA team will select a definite number of referees for the football matches. The referees were selected on the basis of technical, psychological, medical and physical tests. The performances of the referees in their matches were also considered.

The same selection procedure is followed for the final selection of referees. The final selected list of referees will be announced in early 2010. The final list of referees can be expected to 20.
